We see a lot of cars around us on the roads still we identify that one eye-striking car out of all which we all love to see because of its iconic and pleasing design that grabs our attention. Car design is a subjective and debatable topic for all the petrol heads around the world. Still, some great and iconic cars are loved by all of us. But as the end of 2021, there have been many facelifts among brands that let down a lot of car enthusiasts like us. These are what we consider to be the worst facelifts of great cars that you can buy today.
NISSAN PATROL

When Nissan launched the Patrol Y61, its iconic design took the world by storm. It was simple but at the same time, it was intimidating and bold. It rivals Toyota's Land Cruiser in both performance and popularity. But with Nissan launching the Y62 as a facelift, it lost all its charm and ruggedness and all we got was another ordinary-looking box-shaped SUV that had no character or emotions to it. Still, the Y61 is sold in a lot of middle eastern countries as they still prefer the looks and styling of the older Nissan.
BMW 7 SERIES
The 3rd Generation of the 7 series received a lot of praises as it looked more classy and superior on the roads. The Beemer being a favorite for The Mafia, everyone wanted to own one to pull off the gangster look while driving down the street. Unfortunately, as the BMW introduced newer generations of the 7 series, the iconic kidney grills kept growing larger and larger and the design got worse than ever before.
Let's hope they start reducing the size of the grills before people stop buying their cars.
CHEVROLET CAMARO
Camaro was always a legend since it first went on sale in 1966. Since then there have been 6 generations introduced to the world. Chevrolet when launched the 5th Gen of the Camaro in 2010, it was was named the World Car Design of the Year. Everyone knew what the Camaro looked like, even the kids were quite aware because of the introduction of the car as Bumblebee in the Transformers movie. Since then it has been a favorite until they ruined the front end of the design in 2016. It looks less muscular than before and the front looks too busy and unaesthetic in design.
MERCEDES G-CLASS
Mercedes when launched the G-class or well known as the G wagon, it screamed just one thing when you look at it that is "TOUGH". With its boxy styling, it always creates a presence on the road no matter what. It just not only looks tough but is well capable to tackle off-road obstacles too. While everyone was praising the timeless design the Mercedes have created, they decided to pull off an utter disappointment after launching a facelift in 2018, which took away all the manliness of the car and made it curvier rather than the favorite boxy design that people used to love.
TOYOTA LANDCRUISER
This is difficult to criticize as the name carries a lot of respect for it. The car is a statement of reliability and capability. Toyota has never failed to provide the best looking and subtle facelifts for the Land Cruiser since its origin. On 9th June 2021, when the new facelift was unveiled, it shocked everyone what Toyota did to their iconic brand. It was another generic-looking boxy SUV that had no emotions at all. Still, we can wait till we see a lot of the newer models on the road, maybe that can change our perception towards it.
